Cozy place in the city center

Pros: Excellent location, very good WiFi, big spacious room, very clean, drinking water available, friendly owner, fans in rooms, secure, balcony, fridge... There's a kitchen, bit I don't know if it's for guests, I ate outside..

Cons: Cold shower (but that's normal in Caribbean countries), it was slightly more expensive than on Booking, but I didn't complain

Pros: The owner is the most lovely and kind-hearted person in Santo Domingo! He waited for me until past 1:30 am because my flight got delayed (it was supposed to land at 8 pm) and helped me with anything I needed during my stay. The room is quite basic but clean and well maintained, the only down side is the bathroom which is outside the room so you have to walk the hallway to go there but no biggy.

Pros: Isabel and Juan are kind people. Juan contacted me few days before my checkin date to make sure I know how to get to the house and helped me to negotiate the price of the taxi from the airport. Isabel helped me with hanging the laundry , which I'm really grateful. They treat the guests like family. The house is equipped with kitchen, refrigerator, water and balcony which you can hang the laundry clothes. These are very convenient for single travler. The room and the bed are comfortable. Shared bathroom is spacious. All the space in house is super clean.

Cons: There are 2 fans in my room but I still felt very hot during day time. That's the only thing I can't adapt. But it's reasonable for the price since the electricity fee is high in this country. I still recommend this house to the people who can stand the heat.

Pros: I had a wonderful stay at La Casa de Isabel y Juan in the Zona Colonial. The location is central and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. The neighborhood felt very safe, and the hosts were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean, with a spotless bathroom and access to a shared living space, kitchen, dining area, and balcony. It was such a positive experience that I returned for another stay. Excellent value for the price—I highly recommend it. Juan went out of his way to make me feel at home.

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Juan was a very caring and helpful host, the location is excellent. I stayed there twice during my stay in the Dominican Republic and i highly recommend to book a room here. Lots of privacy, near the pedestrian zone/ bus station.

Bring earplugs

Pros: Good location, free drinking water available in the common area, comfy bed, great value for price

Cons: Cold water in the shower, screaming noise from the neighbours cat (took us 2 days to figure out the source), noise from the street

The most cost effective accommodation I found in Santo Domingo

Pros: I paid 14 dollars for a night. It was clean, in a great area. Considering the rates in other places, for that money I couldn't ask for more

Cons: Unfortunately it's alway booked by other people, faster than me

Pros: It is really hard to rate the accomondation. You are living in the appartment in the centre of Zona Colonial and the owners live there too. They are very friendly couple, but this is not for everyone if you value your privacy/expect a hotel or hostel. We are travellers and me and my girlfriend enjoyed it very much, the hosts are very friendly and suggest you all the things you need in the area and if you don't mind living in someones appartment it's a 10 out of 10. Also, take a Spanish dictionary or learn at least something, cause they don't speak English! Hosts are really nice people and it is the best local experience in santo Domingo ever! Cons: It can be noisy, but it's normal for Dominican, especially in country's capital's city centre :)
