Samo Eco Lodge

Pros: The hosts were the most kind and helpful people. They helped us throughout with so many things. The place was spotless clean, very beautiful and a very thoughtful design.

A really cool place

Pros: Both Maurizio and his wife were very kind and helpful, I talked a lot with him about where to go eat, what to see and so on. The wooden lodge/bungalow is amazing and is on the edge of the jungle, so at night all you listen to is the jungle singing. Amazingly no need for AC, at night it is really cool. There is a terrace just on the doorstep, and the place where we were staying is high in the air overlooking the jungle. Breakfast nice and simple. When you step onto the property the perception of Las Terrenas changes. They have two cute dogs and a small kitty.

Cons: But before you step in/drive on the parking spot you must drive some 200-300m on one of the worst roads ever, from the main road to there, helps to have a SUV (4x4 helps even more:).

Pros: Amazing place, quite and beautiful. Wonderful wooden room, lovely garden, great hosts.

Pros: a very unique experience to sleep in the sounds of the nature / jungle, very friendly hosts, tasty breakfast with many local fruits, amazing value for money. If you love nature, you shouldn't miss this opportunity

Pros: We stayed in this charming little place for 3 nights and it honestly didn't feel enough. Tucked away in a peaceful, green setting, it offered the perfect escape from city life. The owners are welcoming, kind and attentive without ever being intrusive. You can feel the care they’ve put into every detail, from the cozy, well-kept space to the carefully prepared breakfast. If you're looking for a quiet retreat full of charm and nature, you won't find a better place than this!

Pros: The host took care of my request due to my sensitive skin and arranged taxi, scooter, tour for us. The place is very nice and calm (sounds of nature). But also the breakfast is a pleasant surprise. We were very satisfied.

Pros: This stay was a dream! Surrounded by nature, the property was peaceful, beautifully designed, and full of charm. The views from the room were absoluty breathtaking. The breakfast each morning was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A perfect place to unwind and recharge.

Stunning place!

Pros: You step out of a beautiful, modern cabin right into a lush jungle vibe. So tastefully designed and decorated. The hosts were friendly but respectful of privacy, breakfast was tasty (eggs, fruit, toast). A little challenging road up to the property, but that’s just Dominican Republic everywhere.

Wonderful place and wonderful owner

Pros: A perfect stay in a small beautiful wooden hut facing the jungle. High standard. Great breakfast. Mauricio is an awesome owner. Two hammocks in front of the hut to enjoy the view on the jungle. There are only two huts in the place, so it's very quiet and private. Very comfortable beds and room altogether.

Cons: The location is a bit far from the center of Las Terrenas, and from the beach. So this is the place to enjoy the quietness, the jungle, the beautiful hut and the top quality of the facilities, but not to enjoy the town or the beaches. You need to use some mean of transportation to get there. Also, the mosquito net covering the bed was a bit to short, so we needed to be careful not to leave a space for the mosquitos to come.

Beyond our expectations

Pros: Samo Eco Lodge was the best place we've ever stayed. We wanted to stay longer. The whole place was stunning, the sounds of nature at night, the breakfast, everything! The owners were so friendly, they were welcoming and gave us recommendations for activities in the area.
