Catalonia Bayahibe - All Inclusive

Pros: The rooms are clean and regularly maintained, hygiene is up to standard. The beach is 5 minutes from the room, along the way there are bars with drinks and a large swimming pool in the middle with a bar inside the pool. There you can drink traditional Dominican drinks and cocktails that are made for you on the spot by friendly and always smiling baristas. As for the food, it is very diverse, the menu covers all types of diets, from vegan to keto. There is also a bar with freshly squeezed fruit without sugar.

Cons: There are not enough showers by the pool and beach, you have to walk a lot from the beach to the first shower. The taxi from the hotel is too expensive. If you need transportation to the airport, I recommend not using the taxi from the hotel. If you order a regular taxi to the airport, it will cost three times less. Not enough entertainment for young people, lack of party organization.

Pros: Everything, starting from the menu and drinks and ending up with the beach and activities exceeded our expectations. Hotel territory is clean and beautiful! Food served is wide in variety and very tasty for all the meals and a la cart. We also liked the possibility to take masks for snorkelling for an hour to see the fishes (and there are quite many)

We had an excellent week, I would recommend Catalonia Bayahibe to friends and family.

Pros: Beach was wonderful. All staff were great. House keeping did a great job. Extra towels, water, soda, beer, were all brought promptly at our request. The resort souvenir shops were not over priced at all and carried what we wanted & needed.

Cons: Reservations for the restaurants was difficult. Paper work said 24 hours advance reservations required but it ended up being 48 hours in advance. Also you could not make a reservation at the restaurant in person, you had to use an app. We are elderly & not tech savvy, so impossible for us. Language barrier was difficult ( but that is our fault not the resorts or staff) we are in a Spanish speaking Country.

a magic place

Pros: beach is fantastic, sea wonderful food and breakfast super services are magic and all the activities funny and involving staff is the best and the whole resort is a fairy tail

Cons: standard room are a little old and not so fantastic ristorante Toscano is an Italian restaurant for tourist food is very bad

If you are focused on food for your vacation, this is the place for you. Decent otherwise.

Pros: Food is amazing. Buffet was solid to great every day. Carribbean restaurant was great! English proficiency wasn't amazing, but we could get by. Pool was okay. Clean overall. Okay beach. Considering it's probably one of the cheaper all inclusive resorts, I'd recommend it.

Cons: The room is very underwhelming for the price. We didn't end up paying (a small amount) for an upgrade, which might have changed our experience. They were quite hawkish about surcharges, and I didn't want to, despite it being tens of USD. We got used to it though, and enjoyed the overall experience.

Pros: I liked a lot the location, deep in the heart of the nature.

Cons: The thematic restaurants availability was not the best.

Playa hermosa

Pros: La playa espectacular, personal amable, recomemdado 100%

Cons: Poca variedad en el buffet y falta mas animacion en general.

If you're privileged or exclusive, you are in paradise

Pros: - The room was awesome, many amenities, two sinks, two walk-in showers, good sound proof glasses on the windows, king size bed. - The beach and the sea are wonderful, most beautiful sea I've ever seen. Cristaline and warm waters, nice and calm waves, it's like a large salt water swimming pool. - Good a la carte restaurants, mostly the Terrace (privileged exclusive), gentle and helpful staff, good prices at the gift shop.

Cons: - the buffet restaurant could be so much better. Few options, chaotic serving experience, basically the same food almost every day. If you're not privileged or ETC, you gonna have problems to eat good food in the breakfast or lunch - too many restricted and exclusive areas, make the beach time experience less democratic and more segregated. I was in the privileged area and still annoyed me.
