Catalonia Royal La Romana Adults Only - All Inclusive

Pros: Absolutely amazing beach and sea. The most beautiful place for swimming.

Cons: We did not like the noise on the beach from radio, accompanying program - entertainment for guests in the form of beach competitions. Staff was ok, but not friendly, not caring, the biggest difference with Catalonia Bavaró resort close to the Punta Cana.

Lovely place to stay, handful of things to be improved

Pros: Great property- very beautiful and lovely beach, rooms were great, staff was really friendly and attentive. Overall we had a fantastic time in the hotel.

Cons: Their organised classes especially the beach ones are quite disturbing - far too noisy, there was always just handful of people attending and everyone else was complaining the activities were just not well suited for the hotel clientele- local music and the trainers were shouting and jumping around all the time… also it’s all inclusive and the food is absolutely dreadful- looks nice and seems there’s a lot of choice but the quality is horrible… lost weight whilst on a hol there as could barely eat anything- it was catered heavily towards the lower mass market unfortunately so doesn’t really match a 5* hotel

Really loved this hotel..Amazing beach and stunning gardens!!!

Pros: The beach and the gardens were stunning…and the overall concept of the hotel great…the app helped out with restaurant bookings which made life easy!!!

Cons: Did‘t dislike anything apart from the usual idiots you get everywhere who reserve beach beds for the day and don’t use them!!!!

Pros: Entertainment staff were very engaging. Overall, the staff were very friendly and efficient. Good variety of restaurants that were all bookable. The variety of the breakfast was good (great mimosas at Bloved). Swim up bar. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Good variety of entertainment (although it took some time to get going some nights). We could always find a sun lounger. Dance classes were intense but enjoyable. Quite pool areas to relax. We needed to check out late so the hotel booked us in to their shower room.

Cons: Mould on the bathroom ceiling. Smell of damp in our room. No sun on our balcony at any time of day. The rooms and hallways needed some painting. The beach is quite a walk from the hotel (5-10 mins). Air con was very feisty, we had to turn it off and put it into heat when it was 28C. No ice cream sold in any of the restaurants. Quality of the restaurants varied a lot - Siwichi was great, worst was the Asian (Tao-Cat). Tao-Cat served like warm food that was supposed to be hot and sushi that was not fresh. The staff were wonderful but bored as they didn’t have many customers so they were messing around. We were not given beach towels in our room when we checked in and when we got them they were taken by the cleaners and not replaced. Photos of the jacuzzi area on the website are out of date, there is a new, large, square jacuzzi that looks great but doesn’t work.

Pros: Everything. All the restaurants were really good, personnel was very kind and helpful. We really liked the dance lessons by Moreno Feo -group.

Superb

Pros: Everything. Special mention to the staff. They are always looking to make you feel welcome and to give you what you need or want, even before you know it. :). Kuddos to Maroni and to Berenice in the beach bar. Well, everyone really. I don't recall this level of extremely good service in long time ...

Cons: Some of the dinner were less that superb. But, maybe it is just everything was so good that you can not be perfect all the time..

Pros: It’s a clean, very well maintained property with many areas for entertainment. But their biggest assets are the beach and the people. The beach is impecable and the staff are some of the warmest, kindest individuals we’ve ever met. From reception, to the restaurant staff (Isidro and Davide especially), to the cleaning staff, it was smiles and great energy all over.

Cons: Nothing we didn’t like!

Amazing choice for a relaxing week in bayahibe

Pros: The resort itself is beautiful, cozy and intimate, it was a pleasure walking around in the evening. The rooms are big, modern and clean (we especially loved the double shower). The beach is lovely and they have quite a few activities (yoga, dance lessons) that you can do during the day. The food was diverse and fresh - we likedthe bloved and peruvian restaurants the most; stuff was friendly and eager to make your stay as pleasurable as possible
